Silver Sylt: 25 Years Old!
The Sylt event is 25 years old! Yep, way back in 1983 the first long haired, tight jeaned, pink sailing windsurfing pros arrived on this windswept, grey, gnarly shorebreak beach and probably thought, ‘what the...?!’
But then they looked behind them to see thousands of Germans eager for their autographs and plenty of sponsors willing to throw money at their feet. ‘Heh – we love Sylt’, they said and the biggest crowd pleasing event of the PWA calendar began.
