We have a real treat for you racer fans. Here is the final, all important men’s medal race from the RS:X Worlds held this July in Cascais, Portugal. Complete with live commentary this race decided the 2007 RS:X World Champion as well as giving selectors a better idea of who to send to the Olympics in 2008.

Only the top10 sailors from the week’s event are allowed to compete in the Medal Race. All can be won or lost in this last race as points are doubled, for example, a second getting four points not two (less points the better). Going into this race three sailors could have won the World Championships: Ricardo Santos, Miarczynski Przemyslaw or the UK’s Nick Dempsey so it couldn’t have been closer.

So follow the race in three parts; the start + first beat, the middle of the race and the last downwind & slalom finish.

Note: Zofia Klepacka won the Ladies.
