Jamie Hawkins PWA competitor

Jamie Hawkins is a name we all know; winning several UK Titles on the wave & racing scene before becoming a top10 regular on the PWA wave & slalom tours. He gave it all up in 2003 to earn a proper living in property and recently setting up cafes! But Hawkins is now back, having his first season on the UK Tour and now the big test; his first PWA event since 2000 at the Fuerteventura World Cup. Can he get a decent result after so many years away? Can he prove to himself that he can come back as a full time Pro in 2009? Let’s find out...

Day 3

Races run: FOUR
Results: 30.5, 21,20, 30
Comment: Best day by far as Jamie uses an eight year old fin making an incredible difference to his speed but he is exhausted after two long distance races on 6.7m sails!

Day 4

Races run: THREE
Results: 22, 18, 26.5
Comment: Made it to the Losers Final, narrowly missing the Final. Best result so far and Jamie feels he is faster although feeling tired with his cold still affecting him.

Day 5 (final day)

Races run: THREE
Results: 22, DNF, 14
Comment: A very windy day maxed on a 6.2m and in the last race he came second in the Losers Final showing that with proper race sails, more kit tuning and not being doomed by a terrible cold, he can make the Finals!
