It’s been a little quiet around umi lately. Have they stopped making movies? Has the crisis affected their work? Have they turned their backs on windsurfing to take up ‘real’ jobs? Is it true that one of them is now working for Obama, writing his speeches? Of course not! The team has been busy working on a website, editing clips and planning trips for future features. To reassure you, this month we can show you a brand new clip featuring Victor Fernandez in Brazil during the PWA wave event in 2007. The best jumper in the world or what?

The story:

Victor Fernandez needs no introduction. The young Spaniard is currently the number 2 in the PWA wave ranking and is generally regarded as the best jumper in the world. He has recently moved from a long term partnership with Simmer Sails onto North Sails and as a goodbye to Simmer, umi have put this short movie together highlighting the best of Victor’s performance at the Brazil PWA event in 2007. Enjoy!

After airing the clip, umi received an email from Fanatic brand manager Craig Gertenbach. He commented on the action saying ‘... really nice clip! And since it is the only proto Victor has broken in 5 years doing an over-rotated double... no such thing as bad publicity eh?’
