Windsurf Beauties and Young Guns camps coming up soon!

News From the Windsurf Beauties below about upcoming camp dates.

Ladies and gentlemen, windsurf freaks and all our friends,

It’s about time to announce our upcoming Windsurf Beauties camps (we do like to teach guys as well, so don’t be shy to join us) in the next few months. We will start with SA, Cape Town from 2 until 16th of March, it’s in a few weeks already but if you are thinking of coming to Cape Town, rather do it now, because then until December 2013 there won’t be much wind according to the usual forecast.

Our next camp will take place in Mauritius from 1 until 10th of May. It’s warm water, no wetsuit, flat lagoons and amazing waves, so if you are beginner or an amateur wave rider, join us for some fun sessions that you will never forget.

We will be sailing and surfing all days long, from 1 until 10th of May and you don’t have to bring your gear with, you can rent it out at Club Mistral there, but please don’t forget to email them and book in advance. In June 2013 we are heading back to our roots, Egypt, Dahab, Five Square windsurf centre.

We will start with the kids camp, JP NP Young Guns, for all windsurf addicts from 6 until 18 years old.

It will take place at Five Squares windsurf centre from 1st until 15th of June.

1 week of the camp is 350 euros, 2 weeks 680. The windsurf rental is payed extra. But if both parents are renting their gear or taking lessons at Five Square windsurf school, the kid doesn’t need to pay for his gear. We’ve got life vests and everything for your your rippers, so don’t hesitate to let your kid sail his heart out and have lots of fun times with his buddies.

Camps for mommies and daddies are from 15th until 29th of June, also at Five Square windsurf center. Basically, June is the best month in Dahab wind and temperature wise, it’s not hot yet and you can sail all day in bikinis/boardies.

Roberto ‘Clinic’ Hofmann joins Starboard

Roberto Hofmann is probably the voice of windsurfing at the moment. He not only teaches hundreds of new and upcoming talents each year but he also finds himself commentating to hundreds of thousands each year as he hits the road with the PWA World Tour. However, of late, Roberto has also been hitting up the racing scene, read all about it in the press release from Starboard below.

ROBERTO HOFMANN:

“Windsurfing has determined my life since I was 15 years old. I grew up on one of the big Northern Italian Lakes (Lake Maggiore), and so I could improve my skills pretty fast. I moved to Sardinia after school with 18 years and started competing very early. I always loved the adrenaline while racing, but discovered that I was a competent teacher as well.”

“A few years later I opened my own windsurfing school on lake Maggiore, and started working with big windsurfing brands, because of my communication skills. Somewhere in 2000 I realized that almost every windsurfer needs some advice to improve their windsurfing faster. Normally people only have a few weeks a year for windsurfing, so I started to organize some clinics and classes in Italy so people could improve faster with the little time they had.”

“I just want to point out, that not every good windsurfer is good in teaching. I have the big advantage that I speak four languages perfectly and so I can teach almost anything to anybody. Whether I bring people to Egypt, Morocco, Cabo Verde or the Canaries, there’s a solid base to fall back on, plus I also do clinics in Italy:”

Pimp My Ride with Windsurf Coaching pt. II

Colin ‘Whippy’ Dixon from Windsurf Coaching has been in touch about his latest updates to their ride. It looks like the van is beginning to take shape inside. However the outside has some way to go, below is the first part of the latest update, click on the link underneath that to read more, and we’ve got another of their trailers from their Coaching DVD that was released last year. We’ve also just heard some fresh news from Marco Wedele who has just signed to Sailloft for this coming season, check out the updates on his facebook page.

First thing was to work out what sort of insulation I needed. I did lots of research into what most high end camper vans, motor homes and van conversions used, and I decided to start with foil that is like Celetex but a lot easier to use and go’s in tricky places a lot easier. This stuff reflects the heat from both ways, so when its hot outside of the van in a hot place it will keep it cool inside. Also being a white van it will help, when its cold outside it will keep the heat inside of the van, happy days!

CLINICS: PWA Ladies Danielle and Arrianne take you to Egypt

PWA Freestyle ladies Danielle Lucas and Arrianne Aukes will be hosting a clinic in Dahab on the 3rd – 10th March for all. Two PWA windsurfing girls teaching intermediate to advance… Where do we sign up…

While a lot of the UK is struggling with the icy cold conditions, why not think about getting away for some warmer weather and windy days! Last week Phil and Danielle from Getwindsurfing announced a lot of their dates for their 2013 coaching weeks abroad.

An exciting addition to these is for the week of 3rd-10th March, when Danielle will be teaming up with Dutch Freestyler Arrianne Aukes to host a week of coaching in Dahab.

Danielle and Arrianne met whist competing in the PWA freestyle competitions, where this year Arrianne finished in 3rd place overall and Danielle in 7th!! They have since spent time together training in Egypt and the UK, and are very happy to be working together to get more people out there improving their skills and loving windsurfing.

They will be offering tuition for Intermediate and Advanced Windsurfers, so whether its getting harness and planing control, footstraps and waterstarts, or learning to carve gybe, chop hop or push on your freestyle moves this course is for you!
