VIDEO: ZUSHI Freestyle PRO/AM

Recently the Zushi PRO/AM freestyle contest came to its conclusion in Japan. They scored perfect wind with gusts up to 33 knots and there was certainly a lot of action throughout the day. Check out the incredibly high quality video below, featuring many of the big names in Japan right now as well as a lot of new faces. In the end the winner was Yuma Kobayashi (J-100) who, by the looks of it, was sailing on a pretty high level. We hope to see some of these guys on the PWA Tour this year…

VIDEO: Down the Line in Iwata, Japan

It’s all about Japan this morning, first we had Hiro’s high quality clip from Omaezaki and now just up the coast line is this spot, Iwata. It looks like it provides perfect side to side-off shore conditions with nice punchy waves. If you ever considered windsurfing in Japan this is the area to go. Watch as Makoto Higashiyama, Yoshitaka Ikeda, Hiromi Satou, Yoshiaki Nagamatsu and Takahumi Noguchi put themselves through some heavy wipe-outs but at the same time scoring some sweet waves.

Looks like the locals of Omezaki, Japan have been scoring some good conditions during January. Check out the action in this clip including some awesome arched pushloops. We published another video from these guys a while ago (check it here) and we can see moves from the following in this one: Hiromi Satou, Ryouta Kamata, Makoto Higashiyama, Motoko Satou, Masahiro Motohashi, Yoshiaki Nagamatsu, Takuma Fujiwara, Norio Asano, Tomoo Ishihara, Hisataka Ishii, Takahumi Noguchi, Yoshitaka Ikeda and Shigeki Matsui.

Japan is starting to appear on the map at the moment, a boom in the windsurfing scene or at least the PR that is coming from there is certainly hard to miss. This latest video features a lot of local riders at the wave spot of Omaezaki. The riders are: Hiromi Satou, Ryouta Kamata, Makoto Higashiyama, Motoko Satou, Masahiro Motohashi, Yoshiaki Nagamatsu, Takuma Fujiwara, Norio Asano, Tomoo Ishihara, Hisataka Ishii, Takahumi Noguchi, Yoshitaka Ikeda and Shigeki Matsui.
