The Ponch by Phil Horrocks K-303

The Ponch is a fast move that looks best when performed powered up. It can be done as a freestyle trick off flat water, as a jump using a ramp on the way out, or progressed into a Goita by performing the move as an aerial, off the lip of a breaking wave.

Equipment:

Smaller sails are much easier. In the sequence, I am using a 3.7 Neil Pryde Zone.

Conditions: Powered up with slight chop to get good pop!

You can learn to ponch on the way out off waves if its side or side off. You will find that you don’t need to be as powered up for that.
