1. What are your best features? I´m freakishly strong.

2. Where are you from? Bembridge, Isle of Wight.

3. What is work? I was a Spanish and French teacher, but am now a Maths, Science, Music, English and French teacher in Gran Canaria. Not sure how I got roped into that one! Bit of a loose cannon in the lab but having fun burning stuff and have only once had to evacuate the lab of 11 year olds after mixing chemicals and producing a highly toxic gas. (The headmistress doesn´t know this) I now get invaluable advice from Science teaching guru,, Mr Clyde Waite. He is my Lab hero. What he can´t do in a white coat,…..do I get extra points for this by the way?

BSB: 4/5 ( Teacher in the windiest place in the Universe, clever but dangerous, it would be a 5 but we are not into bribery, and my name is not Mr Waite.. )

4. What is your link with windsurfing?  Well, what I don´t know about windsurfing.. lets say I´m an expert! I know how to flaka, air chachoo, switchstance spock 540, one handed backloops… can´t quite execute any of them yet but when i´m ready I will be able to after listening to hours upon hours of highly interesting windsurf chat between Emile (boyfriend) and the boardseeker staff, Emile and other friends and sometime even Emile and himself. I rarely get bored of their vastly educational conversations. So this is my tenuous link to windsurfing.

5. Can you windsurf? Of course!! I can do a good beach start to leg break, I have not yet named this daring move. It is a new move I pulled off in Jericoacoara which involves 6 weeks in plaster. An extreme move and I wouldn’t recommend it to the faint hearted.

Once out of plaster, I went on to be able to do a couple of water starts and even managed to ride a wave. One time I even rigged my own sail and I´ve been hounded by sponsors ever since.

BSB:5/5 (What, Elastoplast? Still good effort though and persistant too. Got to be worth a 5 )

6. What makes a windsurfer a good boyfriend? All windsurfers have hot bodies, staminer and a great tan …(erm… going for the points thing again)

7. What is your most memorable achievement to date?  I won the Bembridge Scow (one design, gaff rigged dinghy) championship in 2003. Say no more. Oh, and I also won the daily telegraph young jazz competition in 1993 with a compostion for the school jazz band! (am I allowed to mention other hobbies in this, or is that blasphemy?) I have been admitted to hospital in 10 different countries for various injuries, allergic reactions or illnesses!

BSB:3/5 (You are a Dangerous Davina and what the hell is a Scow? Jazz…?? But we like champions.)

9. If you were President or Prime Minister for ONE day, what would you do? Could I be world leader instead? (hmm, maybe..) I would get everyone in the world to get off their behinds, get outside and look at the places they are destroying and then get them to just stop,, and get world peace and save the world obviously.

10. Finally, your windsurfing boyfriend says he will be out sailing for a quick hour. He comes back 4 hours later. What do you say to him? I know that Emile has different time frames for things so I take 1 hour to mean 4 anyway. So if he´s gone 4 hours, then he´s on schedule. This works when I need him to be somewhere at a certain time,, I just add 4 on to the real time. It’s a formula that seems to work for most things... (most things!)
