A total of 17 windsurfers left Bournemouth at 10.30 last saturday to attempt the now infamous Bournemouth to Brighton challenge. Winds were lighter this year but as always they picked up through the Solent and literally blew the sailors out the other end.

In the end only 3 sailors made it the whole way, with Matt Wemms finishing 1st, Jamie Hawkins coming in second and Guy third, after breaking a boom on the Isle of Wight.

What was even more impressive was that loads of people made it frm Bournemouth to Hayling Island, which is probably the hardest part!

Guy says this year was so much easier than last year that they will either have to make it a race, or lengthen the challenge. Bournemouth to Dover doesn't have the same ring to it though!
