Our source in Gran Canaria tells us that Pozo beach was closed yesterday with Police on site to prevent people getting onto the water.

Apparently one of the legendary wind mills had broken, with the brake failing. This meant the windmill was in hyperdrive as a solid 40kts spun it out of control.

Police cornered off the beach and when asked when it will be possible to sail again, the policeman replied "when the drops enough to stop the fan".

With the wind stats in GC, that could mean no sailing until September!
