North Sails 2008: Slalom RAM & Freeride PRISMA

It’s that time of year again when the first batch of 2008 kit is released onto the market. So here we go with North Sails as they introduce the Slalom Ram and the Freeride Prisma.

North Sails 2008: Slalom RAM

The RAM has a slightly softer, springier feel than the North Warp (the full on race sail). It has one less batten, a slimmer mast pocket and a slightly reduced sail foil tension. The RAM is ideal in lighter winds and in the hands of weekend racers although if this sail could have been registered in time for the PWA 2007 slalom season, we think some of the North teamriders would be on them! Basically if you’re not going to sail overpowered all the time, you’ll probably be faster on the RAM than the Warp.

North Sails 2008: Prisma Freeride

This sail has been designed for getting boards on the plane early. It has a unique low-end profile with excellent twist dynamics ensuring a powerful acceleration from low speeds. It pumps well and it has loads of power. If its very light, marginal winds with not a white cap in sight, then you need to pull out your Prisma for some chilled out blasting!!
