Starboard Phantom 2007
Starboard are at it again, cornering the entire windsurfing spectrum with this time….a raceboard! Yes, we hear you cry, isn’t long boarding dead since the Mistral IMCO was dropped as the Olympic board? No it ain’t, in fact there has been quite a resurgence in raceboard/long board racing and Starboard will be launching their board in the capable hands of Patrik Pollack at the Raceboard European Championships this April. The Phantom Race 380 is slightly wider than conventional race boards, but gets away with this due to its 85cm daggerboard. It also has an extra long 75cm adjustable mast track to work with the maximum sail size in this class (9.5m).
The Phantom Race 320 is a more recreational all-wind board for weekends of fun at the beach! As it is more compact it will plane nicely in stronger winds and with a 70cm daggerboard will glide smoothly in those summer light airs. THE STATS
