This winter German freestyler Andi Lachauer broke the norm for a second year in a row and found himself heading back to Costa Rica to get his practice in. The trip saw him travelling to places very few have windsurfed before, so we asked him for a few insider tips. Check them out below, plus an exclusive gallery over the next pages and his latest video on the final page.
Where was your most windsurfed spot?
Lake Arenal, it has a mix of conditions but it’s windy almost every day.
What was your most used equipment?
Neilpryde Wizard 4.2 and my 90l JP Freestyle Board.
When is the best time to go?
For wind, the best time is January until April, it’s strong almost everyday and there is hardly anyone on the water.
