Following yesterdays announcement that Riccardo Marca took the 2015 European Freestyle Pro Tour Rookie of the Year title we decided to catch up with him for a few words.
RM: Yeah for sure I am really stoked about this title, I started competing on the EFPT this year and unfortunately because of school I couldn’t make all the stops but I am still happy with the results I got and my position in the final ranking.
BS: With a title in the bag already what are your plans for 2016?
RM: I’m already training in Cape Town for the coming season as I will compete in the full PWA and EFPT tours where I really want to do the best I can.
BS: What results do you hope to get?
RM: I’d like to finish in the top 10 in the EFPT and the top 16 of the PWA, although I totally know how hard the level is right now but I will push hard to get there.
BS: What else are you up to at the moment and how is Cape Town for you?
RM: My days are very focused on windsurfing, it is the main thing, I am here training a lot with many of the top guys. Myself and a few friends are actually just preparing to go on a two week road trip to Namibia, we hope to hook up with Adrien Beholz somewhere along the way and continue filming with Adam Sims for our Cheers Mate video series that follows our time down here.
BS: Thanks Ricci, best of luck for 2016.
RM: Thank you also.
