Many of the top brands have already launched their 2014 ranges, releasing fresh produce into the wave, freestyle and freeride domain. Boardseeker thought this would be a good time to have a quick recap on what’s out there for you to look over and contemplate buying in the very near future…Here’s our pick of the best new releases so far.
The Pyramid is the all new tri-fin design from Quatro that the pro riders are LOVING. Usually the likes of Levi use custom boards (the production, with a few personal tweaks) but this time around they are just using the Pyramid as is. We think that speaks volumes of the standard of this board. Check out the full intro to Quatro and Goya ranges here.
Simmer Style Blacktip
The Blacktip is the much loved super light weight, four batten sail from Simmer. Used by the likes of Klaas Voget and Ben Proffitt on the PWA tour this sail is ideal for those looking for great manoeuvrability on a multi-fin board. Check out the full intro to the Simmer Style Sail range here.
The Triwave is set to fill the gap between quads and freewave boards, providing the best of both worlds. Used by Fernandez on the world tour, this is certainly not a board to be taken lightly. The full run down of the 2014 range from Fanatic can be seen here.
North Sails Soul.Wave
A new concept sail designed specifically for light winds and down-the-line riding, the Soul.Wave might not be for everyone, but if it is for you, you will love it. For more all round performance you might look to the hero, but if pure wobble and ride is what you’re looking for this sail will be perfect. More from North Sails.
Starboard 2014 Black Box
Again, not a board for every day, but this light wind, low wave board developed by Dany Bruch could see your windsurfing transformed in less-than-perfect conditions. More from Starboard here.
JP Australia Twinser Quad
You have all the options with this Twinser Quad, set up how you like to get the most out of the board. Used on the world tour too, this is one of the snappiest, most radical boards out there. More from JP in 2014 here.
Another sail designed specifically for quads, this sail has power, stability and will push your multi-fin board through some incredible turns. Light in the hands, it has an unrivaled feel. Check out more about the new Gaastra range here.
And stay tuned, there’s still more new releases to come in the near future!
