Team AirBorn are three UK sailors: George Shillito (K630) Graham Woods (K96) and Adam Lewis (K516) who have been training together since their days as Juniors on the UKWA Tour. Now all grown up, they are about to take Team Airborn to the next level. Read on:
George has been living his dream working as a windsurfing instructor for Club Vass, whilst Adam and Graham were relishing in the success of the Official Test Centre (OTC) in Tenerife.
These placements allowed the boys not only unlimited time to train but also gave them opportunities to share and increase their windsurfing knowledge, pass their experiences on and mingle with the figure heads in and behind the scenes of the windsurfing fraternity.
The boys have currently reassembled themselves in Tenerife allowing the team to enjoy some brilliant winter training. The time together has given the guys an opportunity to discuss the future of Team AirBorn in depth. They came to the conclusion that AirBorn had already achieved far more then anyone would have first imagined; so why stop now?
So instead the boys have now set their sights high, aiming to take the team on to bigger and better things. Evolving from amateur youth sailors into full time, training, team athletes. So prepare yourself to hear a lot more from the team over the coming years!
After George leaves the boys working at the OTC in Tenerife, he will return to his new home in Cornwall to co-manage the new Polkerris Watersports Centre but they will all be competing in as many UK competitions as possible, with Adam and Graham looking to enter various local events in Tenerife including the Canarian wave Riders Cup.
So onward and upward for the Airborn guys!
