Windsurfing continues in paradise

Friday saw the windsurfing and kitesurfing worlds united in a fight to save our sports in the wind mecca of Maui. A proposal was put to the senate that windsurfing and kitesurfing be banned within 200ft of any swimmers or Surfers. In Maui that would be the end of windsurfing, particularly at Hookipa and Kanaha.

Thankfully the bill was quickly thrown in the bin after the chair of the hearing commented on how large the response was against the bill. Apparently the bill came about after a rogue kiter repeatedly caused havoc in the Diamond Head region of Oahu and locals put forward the complaint.

So you can now all relax and book your dream trip to Maui with less worry. However Its worth remembering this next time you blast past a helpless surfer.
