Cape Verde:

The swell was up and the wind just enough to run nearly the whole single elimination. Since the very first one, all heats were high quality.
The competition was run with four men on the water with the best two advancing.
We saw some awesome rides from all the sailors. Francisco Porcella, who got a place on the main event through the trials, was solid and impressive, making it all the way to the last 8.
Big names were knock out in the second round: Siver, Baker, McKercher, Mussolini, Skye, Traversa, Jensen and Bruch.
This just shows how high the level is in the event.
All the way to the final were Kauli, Angulo, Polakaw and Swift. Kauli was showing his signature flowing style and so did Angulo and Polakow with some vertical hits in the critical sections and some pretty sick aerials. Swift was solid and on form.
The Wave was braking quite close to the rocks today and many people broke stuff and had to run to get their replacement gear.

Tomorrow the forecast is pretty good so they will run the finals and probably will start the double elimination straight away.

Keep tuned!
