We all know that Josh Angulo is a big part of the reason why PWA is having one of the highest quality windsurfing events ever in Ponta Preta in Cape Verde. The Maui born settled there a while ago, and thanks to his work and relations with the island people, he put everything together to make these events happen. So when he is competing there, he is not only trying to keep the title at home, but he also has to deal with millions of things behind the scene.
In some words he wrote on the MauiSails site, he is happy about how the event turn out, but you can even feel the added stress he had to deal with. We all know how competitive Josh is, he just loves to compete, but he is also a really good sport person and has no problem talking openly and objectively about the final “I had some really solid waves with probably the biggest moves, but Kauli got a couple slightly longer rides which turned the judges decision in his favor. Kauli took a well deserved first place and considering the pressure and extra curricular activities that go hand in hand with an event in my backyard, I was pleased to get second.”
On his own words, it seems like this event has a solid future there in the Island of Sal, so we will be please to enjoy some of the best windsurfing ever seen just there, on his backyard.
