National Windsurfing Week went into full swing today with clubs and centres all over the country offering free windsurfing lessons, windsurfing themed parties and plenty of official windsurfingness related stuff.

With warm and sunny south easterly winds, people countrywide have been getting out on the water. In Poole Harbour alone, one of the UK\’s most popular windsurfing spots, there were over 60 people out on the water by 10.30, making use of the perfect conditions. Just up the road at Bournemouth a UKWA freewave and racing event has been on the go, with demo equipment on display.

West Wittering Windsurfing Club has also been super busy with a hectic schedule of activities for newcomers, there have been similar stories around the country.

Earlier this week, over 200 windsurfers, and many non, met in Leicester Square for a screening of the official windsurfing movie.

The National Windsurfing Week culminates next weekend at Rhosneigr in North Wales for the second leg of the UKWA Four Nations Cup.
