After a great year, the SWA series came to an end with the BUSA Nationals in Calshot. This was the final part of the Club Vass Race series and for many a last chance to make an impact.

Al Graham (Southampton) already had the series sown up with straight bullets at all the other events, but this just seemed to motivate the rest of the fleet. James Bullied (Exeter), Matthew McCormick (Oxford) and Hugh Sims-Williams (Bristol), took the top 3 positions leaving the champ back in 4th. Gemma Lewis (Cardiff) top the ladies fleet after finishing an impressive 5th overall.

The wave title was awarded to Chris Beng (Imperial), whilst the freestyle title went to Joe O\’Callaghan (St. Marys).

In the ladies it was incredibly close. After 3 wave events, 4 freestyles and 4 race events, the results came out as a tie between Liss Earle (Exeter and Sarah Bibby (Southampton).

Plans are already in motion for next years series, so if you are already at Uni or will be next year, get some training in, both on the water and in the bar!

The SWA would like to thanks all their sponsors. Club Vass,, Naish, RRD/EZZY, Boardwise, Starboard/Tushingham, Severne, BooHai, Bic sport, F2 and Turfdog.
