Today it will start the biggest edition of the Costa Brava Slalom event. With 75 men and 27 women registered, this is by far the slalom event with more entrants ever.
Huge efforts from the organizer made it happen this year also for the women fleet, where Karin Jaggi(North Sails, F2) will be defending her Slalom crown from her two more direct opponents: Valerie Ghibaudo (Tabou, the Loft) and Sarah Herbert (Starboard, Naish), but she will also have to be aware of some others, like Iballa Ruano (North Sails), who decided to enter to support the organizers effort to bring the ladies to Catalunya.
In the men, we will see pretty much everyone trying to knock-out Antoine Albeau (Starboard-NeilPryde): last year’s event runner up Micah Buzianis (JP, NeilPryde, MFC), Ex-World Champion Kevin Pritchard (Starboard, Gaastra), speed merchant Finian Maynard (F2, NeilPryde), and one of the undisputed legends of windsurfing, Bjorn Dunkerbeck (T1, North Sails).
Will the crazy tramontana wind make its appearance this year? Will it be a gentle light breeze battle? Will they all be ready? Keep tune to know what happens.
