PWA Injuries

A broken leg for Micah Buzanis has destroyed his chances of firstly staying on the podium in Fuerte and 2 being able to compete in Turkey in 3 weeks. It affectively means his chances for the overall have gone out the window.

Micah suffered a foot injury in Gran Canaria after a collision with team mate Robby Swift. After some stitches and a few pain killers he was back on the water and once arriving in fuerte was on top form.

However in race 11 of the event Micah was leading into the gybe and felt something pop in his leg. After some rushed treatment he attempted to continue, and despite leading into the first gybe, again the pain was too much and he had to retire.

Following an x-ray you can see that its a solid break in the fibula. Chances are there was a slight fracture after Pozo and after a week more of extreme racing the leg just gave up. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Also on the injury list are the freestylers. Ricardo suffered a foot injury in Pozo and is now complaining it is too painful to sail. Having nearly landed a triple with the same foot problem though we suspect he will survive! Gollito is also struggling after tweaking his ankle in the warm up. Hopefully he will be able to put up a good fight in fuerte and hold on to his overall lead.
