Alacati 2008 saw Bjorn return to the top after a break of nearly 3 years. His last PWA victory was back in 2005 in Sylt and its been a while since he really challenged.
Alacti however saw him on new boards and with a new attitude; many are calling it the return of the terminator. Thats not to say Antoine was out of the picture. Having pretty won the title already maybe the Frenchman took the foot of the gas a little, and his second place in Alacati gives him the World title already.
3rd place was Ross Williams who is clearly having a great season. After a slow start in Costa Brava, he then came 4th in Pozo, 5th in Fuerte and now 3rd in Alacati, leaving him in 4th place overall.
Turkey was the last stop for the women racers and despite finishing the event 2nd, Karin Jaggi took the overall. Valérie Ghibaudo won the event convincingly, but was let down overall by her poor result in Costa Brava. A 7th there together with first positions in Fuerte and Turkey was enough to secure her 2nd overall for the year. In 3rd was Sarah Herbert, showing that consistency pays off. She finished 7th, 6th and 5th.
A special note for Swift fans. Turkey finally saw Swifty getting it together in the racing, finishing in a solid 10th position. We think this might be the start of greater things.
