Billabong buys DaKine

Some business news for a change. Renowned accessory brand DaKine has just been bought by surfwear mega brand Billabong. The deal is said to be worth over $100 million dollars.

Founded in 1979 by a windsurfer, Rob Kaplan, the brand started out producing surf and windsurf accessories, before moving into the snowboard, skate, bike and kite.

Apparently Billabong are happy with the way things are running and Rob and his team will continue the great job they are doing.

Definitely the windsurfer did good!!
