White Air 2008

Traditionally White Air has always been blesses with wind, but this year was unfortunately the exception. The positive side of it though was that although the wind failed to blow, the weather was fantastic and great for all the other planned activities.

Not put off by the wind they ran the Youth Freestyle event which was won by Ben Harwood with an impressive display of Gecko\’s. Oscar Carmichael won the all important 1st non sponsored Junior, taking with him a one year sponsorship with Tushingham and Starboard. one very happy kid we guess!

Whilst not great for on the water windsurfing the wind was perfect for some TurfDog land action. Adam Cropper of Turfdog was busy with a Have A Go session in the morning, giving many people there first taste of windusrfing, without even getting wet. In the afternoon he ran freestyle competition which ended in a tie. The 2 finalists Matt Parish and Oscar Carmichael were in a class of there own, but too close to call who came out on top.

Add in to that a Red Arrows display, BMXing, skatebaording, kiting etc, etc,… and of course a killer party…. Another great event.
