Winter Windsurf European Cup

The second round of the Winter Windsurfing Europe Cup finished last weekend in Finland, with results in both disciplines, slalom and course racing.

In this second event, there were more participants than in the first one in Latvia, with a total of 22 riders.

Slalom:

On Saturday, five races could be completed and Janis Preiss, from Latvia, took the lead in the results. After two more races on Sunday, he was still leading and was awarded Overall winner in Slalom of this second WWEC 2009 round. In second place, Mikus Bevalds, also from Latvia, showed his skill to get in the podium, followed by Juha Blinnikka from Finland.

Course Racing:

Only one race could be completed on Saturday, and Antii Riihimaki took the lead. Juha Mannermaa and Arto Ravander, leaders of the tour at that moment were disqualified in the first race, but came back strong on Sunday, finishing in 1st and 3rd after four more races. In second place finished Janis Perris, who became the overall leader of the WWEC 2009 tour after these two first stops.
