JP-NeilPryde Slalom Series

After the great success of last years UK Slalom Series, it was obvious that this year the Series would grow bigger and improve. Sponsored by JP and NeilPryde, this 2009 slalom series is looking like it will be an awesome season for both British and now Irish sailors too.

The series kick off will be in the perfect spot of Malahide in Ireland. As part of a two event mini series called the “Irish Sea Challenge” competitors from Ireland and the UK will join forces to compete for overall titles. Malahide is just north of Dublin and is a perfect flat water spot ideal for great slalom competitions, but also out of the water the competition looks like it will be good fun, with an Irish style party with life music and local drinks for everyone: competitors, travellers and spectators!

Fleets competing will consist of the existing top flight and challenge fleets along with the more social aspect of the “Groove Armada Fleet” where the focus is much more on the road trip and entertainment side of the series, needing no fancy kit or previous experience of racing, you just need a will to travel and have a good time! To score in this fleet you count just 4 out of 8 simple hourly races that will take place over the weekend, it’s that easy! and prizes are on offer to all.

It could be one of the best windsurfing trips you could do from the UK, sailing in a new spot with perfect conditions for the racers and the great atmosphere of the event and the Irish hospitality.

To enter you need to have third party insurance which is available by becoming a member of the UKWA amongst other options, entry details and registration are available at
