Day 4 in Cape Verde saw a monster swell hit Punta Preta, but unfortunately for the top 24 still left in the draw, the wind was too offshore to make it sailable.
An attempt was made to run heat 38, the first heat in the second round, but it was eventually cancelled. A huge set rolled in wiping out 3 or the 4 competitors, sending them straight to the rocks. Klaas was the only man left standing, but it would count for nothing.
The positive from the day was the light offshore winds and perfect waves meant the majority of the fleet enjoyed some of the best surfing ever.
The forecast for tomorrow is for the good sized waves to continue and more importantly the wind to pick up. Lets hope the conditions switch on to finish the double.
