If you thought the 2008 Phantom Raceboard was too good to be true, wait until you try the new and improved 2009 model. Based on the 2008 World Championship winning model, the 2009 board has been race tuned even further.
The board is a racing design built within the International Raceboard Class rules. It has a little more V in the nose to make high wind sea sailing more controlled. The extra-long mast track features a 75cm adjustment range that extends further forward, allowing the rider to maximize the waterline, close the gap and use larger sails. The centre board has also been redesigned for better pointing ability. The lay-up of cloth and resin is unique in Starboards range. Full uni-directional ultralight carbon covers the entire board. A wood strip runs along the bottom of the board and a wood shell covers two thirds of the deck to provide super rigidity.
The new Phantom 380 will arrive in the UK in April and Starboard UK importers are holding the 2008 price (£1599 inc.VAT).
Starboard is the first brand in years paying the deserved attention to the demands of longboard racing. In the UK, a new association has been formed to help the UKWA to rebuild the longboard racing fleet.
