PWA has just sent out the Official Entry form for the first two slalom events of the year: the Dwarf 8 Surf World Cup in Podersdorf (Austria) and the Ulsan World Cup (Korea).
This means both competitions are official confirmed and the Slalom season will start with two events back-to-back.
The Dwarf 8 Surf World Cup in Austria will be from the 5th to the 10th of May, and it will be an only men Slalom competition. The Korea event will be not even a week later, from the 16th to the 22nd, and this time it will be a men and women event.
Last year Podersdof was a Freetyle event, but light winds meant they could only just finish the single elimination in very tricky difficult conditions. This is why the organizer has decided this year to try running Slalom and see if this allows a better result
Korea was not very lucky either last year. The wind teased the head judge, who tried to run the competition several times, but could never get a result in the gusty conditions.
With most of the top guys racing this year on new gear, it will pretty interesting to see what happens.
