Turning a hobby such as windsurfing into a full time career is never an easy option especially in the current economic climate. With enough determination though, it is possible as Daniel Macaulay from Brandwave has clearly proven. Daniel grew up windsurfing in the near perfect conditions around the South coast of Ireland. When he finished uni, he moved to the UK to head-up the marketing for the surf brand, O\’Neill and four short years later, he set up his own marketing agency, Brandwave.
What\’s so special about that you may say… well, Brandwave is fairly unique in that it only handles marketing for action-sports brands. After just over two years in operation, Brandwave quietly works on marketing projects for some of the biggest names in the business including brands such as Neil Pryde, O\’Neill, Henri Lloyd, Fat Face, and Quiksilver.
All of Brandwave\’s employees come from an action sports background and the company has just taken on Pro wakeboarder, Matt Crowhurst as the new European Sales Manager.
Matt says of his new role:
“What Dan\’s done with Brandwave is unreal, I\’m very fortunate to be offered this unique opportunity to work with the best in the business while continuing my wakeboarding and media career”
Brandwave Director, Daniel Macaulay said:
“We\’re delighted to have Matt onboard with Brandwave. His industry knowledge and experience as a professional athlete will be a huge asset to our team. We are really looking forward to receiving his input ion a variety of projects”
