Scotland Slalom

Three events have been confirmed for the Scotland Slalom series.

The first event will be a Fun Slalom Event on May 31st. at the Largs Sailing Club.

A one-day Fun Slaloms Event aimed at non-racers and teams from every beach/club/uni in Scotland. You can race on your own or in groups between 3 and 5 people. They will count the three best results from each team. The type of race will be decided on the day depending on the conditions and it could be a Master Blaster, an Out and Back, a Downwind Slalom, Beach Start, Grand Prix Start, Boat Start, etc.

It will be a fun event to find out which team from which beach is the fastest in the country. And even if the wind doesn’t look too good, it will be a good event to go to anyway, as they will have all the new NeilPryde and JP demo equipment available and Alan Jackson (2007 UK Slalom Champion and Tushingham Team Rider) will be there for a Speed/Slalom Clinic.

Registration will be at Largs Sailing Club from 9:00 to 10:30. At 10:50 the briefing will be held at the beach with a first possible start at 11:00. The prize giving will be at 18:00, so it will be a fun sailing day with a great ending. (Cost still to be confirmed, maximum £10 per sailor).

The second event will be the Scotland Open. It will be a Course Racing event, again at the Largs Sailing Club during the 25th and 26th of July. It will be the National Championship for Techno293, RS:X, Raceboard and Formula Windsurfing.

The third and final event will be the Scotland Inland Championships, the 5th and 6th of September at St Marys Loch. It will include a Course Racing Event and a Fun Slalom Event, and it will incorporate the Scottish Junior Championships, the National Championship for all Techno 6,8 and all T15 sailors Under 15 years.
