Just days to go till the first UK wave event of the season at Brandon Bay, Ireland hosted by Jamie Knox Watersports.
Official competition starts on Wed 6th May running through til the weekend and the forecast looks good! Ben Proffitt and Jamie Hancock are already here and had a good day\’s sailing at Gowlane in cross-off 4.7m weather and logo high waves. John Skye and the King brothers arrive this evening and Monday is looking like a good \’warm up\’ day for all competitors.
There are also some Irish wave riders coming headed by the legend that is Oisin Van Gelderen hoping to show the visiting sailors how to really ride the waves in Brandon.
There is also a strong amateur fleet coming with the Scottish contingent (Scott McDowell/Big Davey/Ian Gibson who regularly turn up to the Tiree Wave Classic)deciding to test their wave riding skills in another Celtic Isle as well as reigning Masters Champion Nigel Treacy from North Wales.
Not forgetting the Youth fleet who have had to sneak off school to attend and the Ladies with current champ Louise Emery facing some serious competition this year from Irish sailor Katie McAnea and English riders Tanya Saleh and Lucy Robson who have all been training hard over the winter.
Boardseeker, of course, are here and we will be doing LIVE updates throughout the event. The action starts on Wednesday.
