Sorry for not updating the site last night, we all got carried away with the local Irish music provided by Spillanes Pub until the early hours.
Results from Friday\’s action:
Masters was won by Big Davey who leads by 0.3 points over Nigel Treacy after three rounds of competition.
Steve King took down Dave Horrocks in the second final to lead the amateurs going into the last day.
Louise Emery had a great comeback to win two rounds and take the lead over Katie McAnena with Sarah Finney in third.
The Boardseeker Expression Session was marred in controversary as the \’beach\’ thought Phil Horrocks had got it with a double loop. But he did water start away from it which wasn\’t enough for the judges and they gave the victory to Mikey Clancy, local Dublin boy for a very high, well landed back loop. Ben Proffitt came third with a pushloop. So 100 euro for Mikey, 60 euro Phil, 40 euro for Ben.
So following the prize giving, Head Judge Duncan Coombes suggested that the forecast was looking poor for Saturday, the wind Gods decided to change their mind and we have now woken up on Saturday morning to find that it is STILL windy and all fleets to meet at Gowlane at 10am.
Here we go again…
