The amatuer wave fleet is getting much larger as the UKWA convince people that the Wave Tour is not all about the Pros. In Ireland the amatuer fleet got to experience a full \’PWA style\’ double elimination and had perfect conditions for them to show off their skills.
But what may be encouraging extra entries is the very generous prize put up by Starboard.
The overall winner of the 2009 Amatuer Wave Tour will be given a Starboard 2010 wave board of their choice!
Yes, come the end of October when the tour finishes on Tiree, the lucky winner will walk away with a brand new board.
So if anyone would like to challenge the current top 4 of Steve King (English environmental engineer) Dave Horrocks (Welsh builder), Niall Mellon (Irish hat maker) and Scott McDowell (Scottish builder) then get down to Rhosneigr THIS SATURDAY for registration at the Funsport shop at 0900.
No need for sail numbers, no need for pre-entry – just turn up, rig up and go when the green flag is up!
