The PWA Fuerteventura freestyle came to an undramatic climax on Saturday. With no wind for the last 3 days Gollito Estredo and Sarah-Quita Ofringa took the titles, after their impressive performances in the first double elimination. Tonky and Brawzinho were 2nd and 3rd in the mens, whilst Diada and Yoli de Brendt were 2nd and 3rd in the womens. Check the PWA report here and check out the event summary video below.
For the women that is it for the year which means Sarah-Quita takes the World title for the second year in a row, having not lost a heat since Pozo 2007! Diada took 2nd and Junko Nagoshi landed her first PWA overall podium. Check the results here.
The mens battle is fierce. Gollito leads comfortably, but behind him Tonky, Kiri and Brawzinho are all tied on equal points. As it stands now Tonky and Kiri share 2nd, with the tie break rule pushing Brawzinho to 4th. However its all to play for in Sylt at the last event of the year.
Meanwhile over in Karpathos, the speed world cup is underway, with Finian sitting on top after 3 rounds, ahead of Antoine and Anders Bringdal, whilst Valerie leads the women. Check the report and live ticker and the mens and womens results.
