News Headlines – Tue 20th

The legendary Weymouth Speed Week was another huge success last week. Not the best year for wind, but great to see the random sailing machines. We paticually like this Gun sails converted boat thing! It seems the kiters are dominating speed now, check here for the full results breakdown.

For todays video action we go to Bernard the bear! He has to be one of the quickest learners ever, going from complete beginner to pro in seconds. A huge forward off the lip off a heavy looking section and all with a 7 battened race sail! Impressive stuff.

Back in the real world, Matt is back. After suffering a horrendous motorbike accident, Matt Pritchard is now back on the water.

Talking of injuries, poor Mikey Clancy will be off the water for a while. He sprained his ankle in Tiree, but not before making the Scottish papers. We wish him a speedy recovery.

We all know Bjorn is a superstar, but check out this shoe commercial.

As Jensen Button wins in Brazil, the windsurfing version is just about to kick off. The Forumla (Windsurfing) Grand Prix gets underway tomorrow. Read more info here.

Remember the UKWA end of year ball. 14th November in Rutland.

Lastly a date for your diaries. Tomorrow night ( 21st October) at 9pm, check out UK superstars Ben Proffitt and Phil Horrocks staring in the Raging Planets documentary. Apparently they appear in an 8 minute segment at the end of the program, filmed last year in some very harcore conditions in Tiree. So tune into the Discovery Channel tomorrow night at 9.
