News Headlines – Fri 21st

Marking the end of the Essaouira Wave Classic yesterday, Hancock & co at UMI Pictures, have already produced a short \’best of EWC\’ reel. Most of the action comes from the reef-break at Moulay Bouzerktoun. Like the look of that? And this chilled-out movie of Boujmaa and friends in Moulay? Feeling impetuous? The Nayra Alonso and Skyeboy Moulay Clinic may still have spaces left, departing on Monday!

Also just drawn to a close, the PWA Ulsan Slalom event in Korea enjoyed a sunny but still final day. Antoine Albeau was the runaway men\’s champion, followed by Bjorn Dunkerbeck and PWA Chairman Jimmy Diaz. Karin Jaggi won the women\’s, with World Freestyle Champion Sarah-Quita Offringa not far off in second and early event leader Alice Arutkin hanging on to third. See the third PWA episode, and the full final standings.

When he gets home looks like second-placed Bjorn is hothousing his progeny, Liam Dunkerbeck, to follow in his illustrious footstraps in years to come. “Faster, Dad, faster!”

Today\’s movie is \’Infamous\’ Italian pimp-daddy Matthias Pedrani laying down his own lyric over wave action from last winter in South Africa. It\’s not everyone\’s ting, so you might want to hover over mute there homie…

We\’re still awaiting official confirmation of the BWA Ireland results, but with no more action it\’s safe to call a Proffitt, Skye, Horrocks 1-2-3. Keep an eye on the British Wavesailing Association site for word.

The (albeit onshore) breaking rumour from Pozo News is that the PWA are about to confirm a World Cup Wave event at El Medano on Tenerife.

And finally, here\’s some Swedish sweets: S-66 Andreas Olandersson ripping it up in Cape Town, by Emil Hakansson. Plus some Bad Boy Skandi freestyle for good measure.
