It\’s been a little while since we had any Cape Town action to enjoy, so today\’s movie is from France\’s semi-pro Bambini Team: South Africa. Filmed in January 2009, they\’ve obviously been keeping busy since as they only just finished the edit!
There was some late slalom action at PWA Costa Brava yesterday, enough for a few heats of men\’s racing and a second women\’s final. Karin Jaggi took the win to rise to joint first lady with Valerie Arrighetti. Read the report here, and see the day 3 movies here and here. It\’s been raining so far today, but you never know – keep an eye on the live ticker, which should provide some banter even if there\’s no action
Onto the wave discipline now, and rumours on the PWA Canaries Tour have been rife over recent months. According to CUTRE\’s Pozo News the mooted Tenerife event is a non-starter after all, while PWA Grana Canaria is looking likely to be waves only, most likely 6-9 July. (Still firmly TBC on the PWA site though…)
Definitely starting today, the freestyle boys are set to impress at EFTP Vassiliki. The Milos Beach Lefkada Vassiliki Festival runs 11-14 June, and we\’re hoping to see some good British representation too. Register now for the live stream, where you can vote for the best trick – who wins? You decide…
And finally, Jason Polakow and Levi Siver are due in the UK next Tuesday / Wednesday as part of the Oxbow \’Totally Bananas\’ tour to launch The Waterman Experience movie. Tuesday afternoon they\’ll be dropping into Wet\’n\’Dry Boardsports out east in Essex, so why not come and join them? Right now the forecast (half-decent NE wind and sunny) looks good enough to get out on the water too. Fingers crossed.
