News Headlines – Wed 16th

Today\’s movie, 5.30am presents the Dacia Surfing Team of Polish freestylers, Jakub Kosmowski, Kuba Kolakowski and Wiktor Kitzm on tour around Southern Europe. Your guess at the reason behind the dawn title is as good as ours though.

Fellow EFPT freestyler MC Ruben \’Bang\’ Petrisie spins through a gozada instructional on his blog – \’just\’ a back-to-sail puñeta, how hard can it be?!?

And hot on the heels of the latest Euro Tour event, the first 2010 Vass Diva Week is already underway at Club Vass on the Greek island of Lefkada. But don\’t worry girls, there are still spaces on two more this season: 8th August and 5th September

Vass legend (and of late, regular slalom racer!) Andy Chambers interviews shaper Werner Gnigler about the JP Super Lightwind concept in this movie from JP-Australia, while Micah Buzianis and Antoine Albeau demonstrate its benefits on the water.

The World Raceboard Championships have kicked off in Liepaja, Latvia, with three races completed on day 1. Slovak Patrik Pollak currently sits in first place amongst a strong European field. Presumably flying in from further afield with 380cm of board has kept the rest of the world away…

Also yet to book their tickets, the world\’s wavesailors are still awaiting confirmation of the PWA Pozo event just weeks away from the traditional dates of the first stop on the World Cup Wave Tour. There are more rumblings – but still no hard news – from Dario Ojeda at home on Gran Canaria. Eyes down on the PWA site for verification one way or the other…

And finally, the British slalom circuit head to BSA Aberdovey in Wales this weekend for the fourth round of British Slalom Association competition. Sunshine and what looks like just enough wind are currently forecast. But even without, two nights of partying and days of clinics and fun races should be well worth the drive.
