PWA Pozo drew to a close on Friday, with Victor Fernandez still sitting pretty having defended his first place against wunderkind Köster in the double. Meanwhile Daida Moreno confirmed her position as first lady against her sister, Iballa. On the blogs, Nayra Alonso is frustrated with yet another fourth place, Skyeboy is left kicking himself after a double blow from 6th placed Robby Swift, Ben Proffitt still seems a bit shellshocked at his victory over Kauli Seadi, Pozo News are the first to report on the ensuing Spanish Funboard Tour event  – and big thanks again to Phil Horrocks for another great blog on our forums at the expense of his own site: oh, and rumours of his switch from rider to judge remain completely unfounded…

Island-hopping to Fuerteventura now, where RRD\’s latest recruit Adam Sims is already in training for the forthcoming PWA Freestyle event due to start next Friday. The big contrast to Pozo is that it\’s windy and the huge event site is already coming together, while Adam also tells us there\’s a strong contingent of UK freestylers out there purely to practice…

Elsewhere in the blogosphere Ant Baker remembers the Namotu Wave Classic way back in the day, while Tatiana Howard has some much more recent memories – and a movie – of Fiji from this month\’s Butterfly Effect jaunt.

Over on mainland America the / Shadowbox Gorge Jump-Off was ruled by Bryan Metcalf-Perez with a 32.7-foot back-loop, plus the highest shuv-it and shaka, but Whit Poor claimed the biggest forward, stock air, push-loop and the fastest spin rate. More here and here
