Nick Dempsey is holding onto yellow, still in first place at Sail for Gold in Weymouth despite a 7th (discard) and 5th yesterday. Bryony Shaw has dropped just below the medals to fourth as all the classes split into gold and silver fleets today before tomorrow\’s medal races. See Nick\’s reaction to yesterday\’s result at boards.co.uk, and keep an eye on the action – including a live GPS feed – at the RYA event site to see if Nick can secure another gold.
Still no wind at the Pegasus Airlines PWA Slalom World Cup, so Buzianis and Arrighetti stay on top while the racers enjoyed a free keg of Fosters. And it seems the light southerly breeze means high temperatures but low winds at Alaçati today too. Oh well, maybe it\’ll give Kevin Pritchard, Sean O\’Brien and Dan Ellis time to update their blogs … not that we\’re sure they\’ll have so much new to say!
Today\’s movie comes from much further east as Kuma Movie presents Boujmaa taking on Omaezaki in Japan earlier this year. Hard to imagine the starboard-specialist would be there just for fun – but less-than-perfect port tack has to be your focus to crack the World Tour nowadays…
The EFPT has declared La Franqui in Leucate, Southern France, an \’approved spot\’ following what must have been one of the windiest freestyle events in history last spring. See more at www.efpt.net
Flying Objects have updated their website with a new boardbag selector. Just plug in a year and model of board and the required size will be shown. Seasprite Sports has a list of stockists for FO harnesses, lines, boardbags, rigbags and much more…
And finally, George Shillito welcomed Simon from the cult sit-com Inbetweeners (right in pic, but hopefully out of character on his holidays!) to the Shillito family\’s Polkerris centre in Cornwall this week. A little Wikipedia magic tells us \’Simon\’ is in fact Joe Thomas from Chelmsford, a Manchester United fan – we know he\’s been kayaking out west, but it remainsl unclear whether he deemed \’Tushingham George\’s haircut, demeanour or attitude \’gay\’.
