With all the talk of PWA Cabo Verde this week, it\’s all too easy to forget the remainder of the 2010 Wave Tour – including PWA Cold Hawaii, Klitmøller, Denmark, 13-19 September. Which, judging by movies like this one, promises to be a pretty decent event if an Atlantic swell arrives on the prevailing NW wind. Best wrap up warm though!
Of course, at home the nation\’s eyes are turning towards the National Windsurfing Festival at Hayling Island in a fortnight – and it\’s now last chance saloon to get your entries in, or book tickets for Saturday night\’s fancy dress party. See you there (I\’ll hopefully be the one dressed as a tired but happy windsurfer…)
Looking back now – and somewhat further afield – Bubble\’s written a great report on last week\’s JP / NP Young Guns Camp in Prasonisi, Rhodes. Check it out on www.neilpryde.com. Ah, to be young again…
Staying away, Starboard are reporting on the 2010 Nordic Formula Championship held at Sola Beach near Stavanger in Norway and won by Martin Ervin. And right after the PWA event, the third leg of the Turkish Championships on the island of Gökçeada in the northern Aegean where Starboard\’s Çagla Kubat won the ladies and JP\’s Bora Kozanoglu took the men\’s.
A little closer to home, it\’s good to hear Mikey Clancy has been getting out on the west coast of Ireland. He\’s coping well on his rebuilt ankle after a nasty aerial incident put an end to his 2010 hopes following a promising rookie PWA season last year. www.mikeyclancy.com
And finally, it\’s not exactly all-time but there does seem to be a bit of SW forecast for the UK this weekend. Wales is properly scoring it right now, and it looks like parts of East Anglia, the South Coast and West Country could be on tomorrow.
