Lead story today has to be our latest Olympic success as Keiran Martin has bagged bronze at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. He\’s had a solid week, finishing consistently in the top 10 to claim third behind Israel\’s Mayan Rafic and Michael Chun Leung Cheng of Hong Kong. Thailand\’s Siripon Kaewduang-Ngam had the girls\’ fleet sewn up to claim the first medal of this inaugural Youth Games with Britain\’s Jade Rogers holding on to her solid 11th place. More here, here and here…
Back on British shores, Ant Baker has released a gritty mast-mount movie of his recent wavesailing antics at Shoreham – or \’Shorekipa Beach Park\’ to it\’s loyal Sussex subjects. Check it out.
Steve Thorp has been up at logo-high Rhosneigr with Horrocks, Proffitt and co – there\’s a good pic gallery from Friday on his blog. Meanwhile K4 Fins are being thoroughly tested in various boards, he scored a weekend\’s surfing away in Cornwall, built a harness-mount for his movie camera – oh, and happy wedding anniversary! Lovely…
PWA Freestyle star Max Rowe\’s due back from his instructor season in Vass anytime soon ready for the British Freestyle Championships at Poole Animal Windfest in a couple of weeks\’ time – 11-12 September. See Max\’s blog for more.
New onto the PWA at Fuerte, Adam Sims had a brief 48-hour stretch at home en route to Greece for a few days, then it\’s back home for the Worthing Freestyle this weekend. He was spotted out at Camber last Saturday absolutely ruling the place in lightish onshore winds – he has to be our tip for the top this weekend.
Chris \’Muzza\’ Murray has been out in Vass for a couple of weeks now, and according to his blog has been doing a spot of night windsurfing after a few cheeky cocktails in preparation for the National Windsurfing Festival (very soon – 4-5 September, check the site to see if you can still get entries / party tickets).
But it\’s already party time for his Tushingham team-mate George Shillito down at his family-run centre in Polkerris Beach, Cornwall. For Fowey Regatta they created a \’Finding Nemo\’ themed carnival float and embarked on two hours of partying and parading through town. And windsurfing? Yep – there\’s been wind there too for some super-flat freestyle action in the bay. More at George\’s blog.
And finally, today\’s movie just had to be a Brit – and the best we\’ve seen this week is this from Glenn Ward: Bubble in training over the winter in South Africa. Nice work Glenn…
