News Headlines – Wed 29th

The racers got their chance yesterday at the Colgate Sylt World Cup – Bjorn Dunkerbeck led them home in the first round finals, followed by World Champion Antoine Albeau and PWA Chairman Jimmy Diaz. They\’re currently on hold today waiting for the breeze to fill in, while the freestylers and wavesailors have been released. More at

You can keep up with the action as it happens (if it happens today!) via PWA live streaming TV. The commentary mic now seems firmly with Ben Proffitt, who apparently senses a lucrative new career in punditry… Meanwhile here\’s Bjorn Dunkerbeck rather less personably introducing edited action from the racecourse in the PWA day 5 movie.

For a different perspective on a different racecourse, check out Angulo / Simmer rider Kurosh Kiani competing in Denmark\’s WaterZ long distance event. Step inside the headcam here.

Talking of Simmer racers, Alberto Menegatti was crowned Italian FW Champion after four days of racing in Numana, Italy. There\’s an interview with the “born Formula Windsurfer” here.

Staying with Formula racing, Belgian Exocet / Loft rider Koen Sonck has won the North Sea Cup series after coming 5th, 1st, 1st and 3rd in meets in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Britain. Frenchman Justin Denel finished second overall with Patrick Van Hoof of Belgium in third. More here.

And finally, onto speed where Britain\’s fastest man (max GPS, that is – shout out to main man Farrell O\’Shea too of course…) Steve Thorp has unveiled his new Moo / K4 branded 48-knot-busting fin. This 20cm puppy will retail at £150 – pretty good value for that much carbon. More here.
