Today\’s movie comes from Andy \’Bubble\’ Chambers throwing some power freestyle moves at the end of his summer out on Vassiliki. “Just a short vid from the end of my summer at Club Vass. Bit of comedy chucked in there too! Cheers for Alfi and 12 Beer Productions for the nice edit!” Cheers from us too…
Talking of Bubble, the European Freestyle Pro Tour have published a short interview on the boy and his JP boards in the latest of their \’All Eyes On\’ series. (Recent EFPT features have looked towards Steven van Broeckhoven / Gaastra and Davy Scheffers / Tabou). Check Bubble / JP out here.
And talking of Gaastra / Tabou, on the windier day of 16 / 17 October, West Wittering Windsurfing Club will be offering free demos on the brands\’ latest 2011 gear in association with 2XS and X-Train. The day launching fee will be waived for anyone who\’s trying demo kit too. More here.
Much further afield, next week Lake Araruama in Brazil plays host to the 2010 Rio Formula World Festival. Once pronounced “dead” by environmentalists as the lake was polluted with raw sewage, $160-million of investment has seen it cleaned right up. 200 international sailors are expected to contest World Championships for Formula Windsurfing Youth, Formula Windsurfing Master and Formula Experience. More here and here.
Looking altogether less confirmed now, in the world of speedsailing the ISWC 2010 Speed Windsurfing World Championship planned for November 15-21 in Port St Louis, France still need to resolve some “organisational and financial issues” before registration is open according to speedworldcup.com
They definitely got some racing in down at Weymouth last weekend for the RYA / UKWA National Windsurfing Championships 2010. The RYA TeamGBR roll of honour includes Robert York (U-15 Techno Champ), Kieran Martin (Techno 7.8m Champ), Emma Labourne (Girls\’ Techno 7.8m Champ), Izzy Hamilton (Women’s Youth National Champ) and Connor Bainbridge (RS:X Youth National Champ). More here.
And finally, back to Bubble (and why not?) who has been getting into the waves these last couple of seasons – the word from his Twitter feed is he\’s made it back from Sylt with his sanity intact and is now packed for the long trek to the Tiree Wave Classic with Adam Sims: “12 windsurf boards, 2 surfboards, 1 SUP, 15 sails, enough clothing for an Arctic expedition and a 40 pint keg of cider!” Sounds like they\’ve thought of everything there…
