Today\’s inaugural \’Boardseeker Brit-Pic of the Day\’ (earning the fabulous prize of, errr, a mention in these headlines and kudos galore) goes to Jamie Hancock for this shot of a big Praa Sands on Friday. We\’ve no clue who took it, but that\’s definitely \’Junior George\’ riding. More at vandalsails.com
We bet he\’s glad to have scored that session, because the defending British Wavesailing Champion\’s getting naff-all at the Tiree Wave Classic. But then neither\’s anyone else – unless you count more tow-in and a spot of rounders, according to Bubble on the tweets. Meanwhile Ben Proffitt\’s adding to the growing anticipation that Friday could deliver yet. Here\’s hoping…
From one Classic to another, and down in New Zealand the Taranaki Wave Classic is less than a fortnight away – the organisers tell us that the Carbon Art / Rodgers Dental sponsored contest is shaping up to be the biggest ever. More here, including a preview movie.
Today\’s movie is Tushy / Starboard freestyler Matt Yeates on the Greek island of Naxos: “Some footage from a couple of days\’ windsurfing in September. Unfortunately I broke my own board the week we did the filming so sailing on a borrowed board. Footage shot in the Lagoon of Agois Georgios.”
And finally, are asymmetrics making a comeback?!? Much beloved by kids of the eighties, it seems Mark Angulo\’s revisiting the concept with this new ride spotted at Ho\’okipa by Jimmie Hepp (for you post-millennial types: that\’s a longer rail for the bottom turn, shorter for the top-turn…) And this can-opener\’s a twin-fin too – see Jimmie Hepp\’s Facebook page for more. Or if you want to see more of Mark, check out the EpicSessions blog for a video interview and action movies.
