News Headlines – Tue 14th

This year\’s male PWA world champions have been well celebrated, so it\’s only fair we lead today\’s news with the undisputed Queen of Women\’s PWA Freestyle 2010, Sarah-Quita Offringa – this is her story…

Also spreading the love, we\’ve seen a few Jem Hall and Guy Cribb productions recently, so to complete the holy trinity of British coaching guru\’s here\’s the one and only Peter Hart\’s presentation of his Donegal and Tiree clinics. Stunning backdrops, wild and often hilarious action – it certainly makes us want to join him next year! More at peter-hart.com

Talking of instructors, Ant Baker has named his first Xmas Photo Comp winner as Andy for this Ho\’okipa shot. Good skills…

Back to the girls for a minute, and FLOWindsurfing are running an interview with the Sills sisters, Saskia and Imogen – GBR Techno racers extraordinaire and budding slalom racers on the BSA too. Read all about them on flowindsurfing.com

Let\’s jet off to Brazil now, from where Vandal Sails rider K787 Jamie Drummond has released a quick teaser selection of highlights from his winter so far in Jericoacoara. We\’re looking forward to the full feature in the new year…

Jamie\’s British Vandal team-mate (and namesake) Jamie Hancock has now joined the burgeoning band of Brits on K4 Fins. And his feedback is similarly glowing: \’\’The fins from Steve have really allowed me to experiment with my boards set up and has given so many more options through fin sizes. The fins themselves have more flex than what I have been used to in the past and for my waveriding has given my turns a much looser and controlled feeling.” More on k4fins.blogspot.com

Of course, \’Steve\’ is hardcore, multi-discipline legend Steve Thorp – and he\’s been busy as ever. Check out his Friday session at East Runton (with F2\’s Mike Archer) on davewhite.me. And enjoy his edition of Coast, checking a few north-eastern UK spots from the clifftops on a drive from Flamborough Head to just past Whitby – see what he saw here.

And finally, yes we\’re still bleating on about hydrofoils after AHD\’s latest news. And we\’re going to carry on too, until we get a go on one. And then we\’ll may well go on some more! But we\’re not alone as speedsurfingblog.com are the latest to discuss the concept, which they doubt will top 30 knots as is…
