The one and only Robby Naish has confirmed that he will be competing on this year\’s American Windsurfing Tour, kicking off at Waddell Creek near San Francisco on 5 May and concluding with the Maui Makani Classic on 27 October. With fellow former world champions Francisco Goya and Kevin Pritchard also confirmed, it should be an awesome series: and are both carrying the Naish news – more on the Tour at

From AWT to PWA, and one of the leading lights on the World Tour this season promises to be Philip Koster – he\’s back in training at home on Gran Canaria now, and looking in better form than ever at Pozo. Check this out.


The PWA have published their round-up of the Mui Ne Vietnam event – kudos, of course, to Kiri Thode in the Freestyle, Bjorn Dunkerbeck in Men\’s Slalom and Sarah-Quita Offringa in the Women\’s. The next event will be Men\’s Freestyle at Podersdorf, Austria, 29 April. Full Vietnam summary at

The planned 2011 RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championships will now not be staged in San Francisco. The RS:X Class are finalising the rescheduling and relocating of the Championships to autumn in Europe. More at

In not entirely unrelated news – the other big happening at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show (as mentioned yesterday) was Mr Neil Pryde jetting in to launch the new one-design RS:ONE class and promptly donating a board and rig to W4CR (remember, Sunrise to Sunset 2011 is on 1 May). And finally, it does (finally!) feel like spring\’s in danger of springing here in the UK any time soon, but winter\’s grip is yet to loosen in Finland where Oravi just staged the Ice & Snow Sailing World Championship 2011. In the Winter Windsurf discipline, Janis Preiss has been crowned 2011 World Slalom Champion and Andrey Khargovskiy Course Racing Champ. More at
